Even though your favorite scent comes in a perfume bottle you hate,

- Do I want an atomizer perfume bottle, or one that I dab on? (I recommend atomizers
only for eau de cologne or eau de toilette; more concentrated perfumes can clog
your atomizer because they are sticky and oily.)
- Has this perfume bottle a collector’s value, or am I buying it just
for fun?
- What is this perfume bottle made of, and will it react with my fragrance?
(Glass and ceramic perfume bottles are fine, as are plastic – but if you
have a metal perfume bottle, the metal will sometimes change the scent of your
perfume. You should inquire at the perfume counter before putting perfume in
a metal bottle.)
- Are my kids going to break this perfume bottle (very important, I found out
the hard way – perfume does NOT come out of carpet easily!)?
- How will this perfume bottle look with my bedroom or bathroom decor?
A perfume bottle is not just a container for fragrance; it is a work of art
in itself. Your perfume bottle should blend with your personality, the fragrance,
and your decor. Consider also the fragrance color that you are putting in any
clear glass perfume bottle; especially with cut glass, fragrance color will
change the look.
